Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices, with a specific focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and create a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, using fresh ingredients.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace and equipment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for replenishment.
  • Adhere to proper food handling techniques to ensure the highest standards of quality.
  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary and accommodating special requests.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards.
  • Familiarity with various sushi styles and traditional Japanese cuisine is preferred.
  • Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is essential for success in this role.
  • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal presentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
