Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy's back-end operations. This role focuses on prescription review, data entry, and verification rather than front-store customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with pharmacy systems, and confident communicating with prescribers, pharmacists, and patients by phone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review incoming prescriptions for completeness and accuracy
  • Upload and enter prescriptions into the pharmacy management system
  • Verify prescription details with prescribers and pharmacists as required
  • Contact patients by phone to confirm personal, insurance, or prescription information
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient and prescription records
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, and privacy regulations
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or in a pharmacy setting preferred
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work efficiently with pharmacy software
  • Excellent phone etiquette and professional communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of prescription terminology is an asset

Work Environment

  • Back-end pharmacy role (no front-store retail duties)
