POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Principal of Sensisyusten, the Teaching Teacher On-Call is responsible for providing quality education to elementary school-aged children attending Sensisyusten School on an on-call casual basis and may be called to work on short notice.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Education Degree and a member of the BC Teachers Regulation Branch: BC Ministry of EducationClassroom teaching, student teaching, internship, or full-time teaching experience within a public or private school system.Experience in managing confidential situations and materialsEquivalent combination of education, training and experience may be consideredREQUIREMENTS
Valid First Aid Certification with CPR Level B or C endorsementAcceptable criminal record check [with Vulnerable Sector Search]Maintains a high level of confidentiality and uses discretion on all matters relating to the affairs of the Westbank First Nation.JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILTIES
Follows Integrated Resource Package (IRP) to meet BC academic standardsFollows enrolling Teacher's TOC lesson plans, or is prepared if there is no lesson plan available that willmeet the learning outcomes outlined in the IRPProvides a classroom that is a safe learning environmentFamiliarity with school-wide discipline programProvides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and to motivate students learningCooperates in school-wide supervision of students during out-of-classroom activitiesCooperates in team building and teamwork with the principal and other staffMaintains professional development by taking courses and participating in workshopsPerforms all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the School policies, standards, governing regulations and procedures, as directed by the School BoardMaintains confidentiality on all matters relating to the affairs of the Westbank First Nation and the SchoolPerforms other duties and responsibilities as necessary in the performance of the position, and as assigned by the PrincipalPerforms all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Westbank First Nation policies, standards, and proceduresKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
