The Junior School French Teacher-On-Call position will be contacted as required to lead teaching and learning in the Junior School (Kindergarten - Grade 7). The Junior School is a vibrant, innovative school community focussed on personal excellence, whole child development, and overall wellness. Enjoy the experience of teaching in a dynamic kindergarten play-based program, in primary classrooms with a focus on emergent reading, writing and numeracy, in an inquiry-driven intermediate program supported with personal iPads, or in a distinct middle school curriculum determined by the unique development of preadolescent girls as they prepare for high school.

Responsibilities:

• Teacher-on-call (Grade 1  to Grade 7)

• Teacher on call for the Grade 1-7 French program

• Leave detailed notes for teacher following each day

• Support with supervision of students during non-instructional time

• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff as required 

• Provide personalized instruction and learning support for individual students as required

• Participate in co-curricular activities and clubs as required 

Requirements/ Qualifications:

• B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Native-like fluency and strong command of the French language

• Experience teaching French as an additional language in an elementary setting is an asset

• Strong time-management and organizational skills

• Commitment to teaching whole child

• Collaborative, flexible, and enthusiastic

Compensation: Daily rate is $326
