Reports: Final Assembly Lead Hand, Plant Supervisor, Manager of Manufacturing

Hourly Wage: $20 - $26.54/hour.

Summary

The Final Assembler is responsible for the final assembly of our packaging machinery, including shrink wrappers, vacuum sealers, and band sealers. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, the ability to follow blueprints and schematics, and an understanding of assembly procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Final Assembly:

  • Assemble packaging equipment, including shrink wrappers, vacuum sealers, and band sealers, from subassemblies to fully operational units. Work with both manual and semi-automatic systems.

Blueprint Interpretation:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings to ensure parts and components are assembled accurately and according to specifications.

Parts Installation & Fitting:

  • Assemble, install, and fit parts according to technical plans and drawings, ensuring proper functionality and alignment of components.

Manufacturing Operations:

  • Perform assembly tasks and operations according to work orders, bills of materials, work instructions, and engineering specifications. Ensure assembly is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Report errors in drawings/BOMs/routings to lead hands/supervisors

Safety & Quality Compliance:

  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and quality standards during the assembly process. Ensure that all machinery meets operational and safety specifications before finalizing assembly.

Housekeeping & Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Perform daily housekeeping tasks, including cleaning work areas and ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

Attendance & Timeliness:

  • Report to work on time and adhere to the designated schedule. Meet the company's attendance expectations and work all assigned hours.

Other Duties:

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager or their Assembly Supervisor to support the assembly process and company operations.
  • Must lift around 40 lbs when required.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

  • High school diploma

Experience:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience as an assembler.
