What You'll Do

• Conduct policy research, analyze data, and create maps using GIS to support planning initiatives.
• Assist in public, stakeholder, and Indigenous engagement efforts by designing materials and participating in community meetings.
• Help prepare planning reports such as Official Plans, Zoning By-law Amendments, and site plans.
• Work alongside engineers, architects, and environmental specialists on integrated projects.
• Prepare graphics, presentations, and technical memos for clients and stakeholders to communicate planning solutions effectively.

Minimum Requirements

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Planning, Engineering, Humanities, or a related field with the intent to continue pursuing studies after the internship, unless graduating.
• Candidates must have completed two (2) years of study in their program.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various communities for face-to-face engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference may be given to those pursuing a master's degree in a related field.

What We're Looking For

• Someone curious, adaptable, and eager to handle a diverse range of projects.
• Strong communication skills with a knack for visual storytelling.
• Experience with GIS is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is also beneficial.
• An interest in Indigenous-led community planning is a bonus.

• Relocation is not available for this position.
