Duties

  • Design, configure, and deploy Cisco networking solutions including routers, switches, ASA firewalls, Meraki devices, and Cisco ISE for identity management.
  • Manage and optimize network protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, IPsec VPNs, DHCP, DNS, and VLAN configurations.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures including PKI infrastructure, IDS/IPS systems, SSL/TLS encryption, VPNs, and firewall policies.
  • Support data center infrastructure involving SAN storage solutions, VMware vSphere environments, high availability configurations, load balancing strategies, and system administration tasks on Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows Server, and UNIX-based systems (Solaris/BSD).
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and perform network monitoring using tools like SolarWinds and PRTG to ensure system integrity.
  • Automate network management tasks using scripting languages such as Python and Bash; utilize configuration management tools like Ansible.
  • Support cloud security initiatives within AWS and Azure environments; facilitate remote access via SSH or remote desktop software.
  • Perform network installation projects including hardware setup and software deployment in telecommunication settings.
  • Collaborate with teams following SDLC methodologies in an Agile environment to implement system updates or new features efficiently.
  • Provide ongoing support for network support issues related to VoIP (VoIP systems), SSO integrations (Active Directory/LDAP), high availability configurations, and network architecture improvements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Cisco networking equipment including routers (Cisco routers), switches (Ethernet), ASA firewalls, Meraki devices; knowledge of Juniper is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN design, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), network protocols (TCP/IP), VPNs (IPsec), VLANs, QoS policies.
  • Hands-on experience with network security technologies including Cisco ISE for identity management; PKI implementations; SSL/TLS encryption; IDS/IPS systems; vulnerability assessment tools.
  • Familiarity with data center technologies such as SAN storage solutions; virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere; cloud platforms including AWS and Azure.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation; experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of operating systems including Linux distributions (Debian/Ubuntu/CentOS), Windows Server environments; UNIX systems like Solaris or BSD is advantageous.
  • Experience supporting telecommunication systems including VoIP; working within ITIL frameworks for IT service management is desirable.
