Downtown Salmon Arm is seeking a highly organized, community-minded Membership & Program Coordinator to support downtown businesses, programs, events, and communications. This role works closely with the Manager and plays a key part in delivering member services, seasonal promotions, and public-facing initiatives that contribute to a vibrant and resilient downtown. This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys balancing administrative detail with creative and community-oriented work.

Key Responsibilities

Membership Services & Tracking

Maintain membership records, support the annual State of Downtown, and develop and conduct surveys.

Membership Communication

Regular connections with new and existing members, manage newsletter, conduct surveys, and complete regular business check-ins.

Seasonal Programs

Support planning and delivery of seasonal promotions.

Events

Assist with downtown activations, entertainment booking and scheduling, licensing, and holiday programming.

Marketing & Communications

Support social media and marketing initiatives, including content creation and design using Canva and other digital tools.

Downtown Dollars Program

Coordinate distribution, reimbursements, tracking, and reporting.

Operations & Administration

Manage equipment inventory, assist with website updates, and record minutes for monthly Board meetings.

Education

Grade 12 Graduate and Post Secondary Education an asset.

Qualifications & Skills

· Strong organizational and time-management skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication

· Comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, and digital tools

· Experience with social media, Canva, or marketing platforms considered an asset

· Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team

· Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for events

· Experience in community organizations, events, or member-based organizations is an asset

Work Environment & Location

This is not a remote position. The role is based on-site at 250 Shuswap Street N, Salmon Arm. This position is equipped with a company computer, land phone line, and desk/chair at a dedicated workspace.

Walking the span of downtown is required for business check-ins. From time to time, off-site work may be required for meetings, programs, and events.
