Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of painting techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to read schematics and blueprints. The Painter will work closely with project managers, carpenters, and other trades to ensure high-quality results that meet client specifications and industry standards.

Duties

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
  • Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and power tools.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings to determine project scope and specifications.
  • Perform restoration work on damaged surfaces or structures as needed.
  • Utilize rigging and scaffolding safely for elevated or hard-to-reach areas.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
  • Collaborate with carpenters and other trades to coordinate work sequences and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of waste materials and cleaning tools after use.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to address project requirements or concerns.

Skills

  • Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting.
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings accurately.
  • Strong knowledge of caulking techniques and surface preparation methods.
  • Familiarity with rigging procedures for scaffolding or lifts.
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, sanders, and putty knives; experience with power tools is a plus.
  • Basic carpentry skills for minor repairs or adjustments before painting.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively across multiple projects.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
