Osgoode Properties | Advisory Committee Director
Osgoode Properties is seeking a seasoned investment professional to join its Advisory Committee as a Director. This is an opportunity to contribute to the strategic oversight and governance of a multi-generational family office with a diversified portfolio that includes land development, private equity, and a variety of investments. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping investment strategy and ensuring long-term alignment with family values and legacy.
Founded in 1982, Osgoode Properties has grown to become one of Eastern Canada's largest owners of residential rental apartments, with over 6,000 homes across Ottawa, Gatineau, Kingston, Edmonton, and Calgary, and additional units in Florida and Georgia. The organization is proud to be in its second generation of family ownership and operation, combining the scale and efficiency of a large enterprise with the integrity of a hands-on family-run business.
The Advisory Committee Director will provide independent, experienced guidance on investment matters, strategic direction, and governance. At quarterly in-person meetings, the Director will contribute constructively to discussions and collaborate respectfully with other committee members and senior leadership.
The ideal candidate will bring senior-level experience as a private equity investor, with deep expertise in governance, and risk oversight, along with relevant credentials such as ICD.D, C.Dir., CFA, or CIM. A strong understanding of Canadian, U.S., and global markets, and prior experience working with family businesses is essential, as is the ability to interpret financial statements, assess investment opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to strategic planning and asset allocation. The candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will ensure that all matters on the agenda are discussed, and assist in collaborative resolution. The candidate will bring substantive experience in investment management, policy and principles and the ability to make sound investment decisions in accordance with investment strategy, policy, values and risk tolerance. Previous board or investment committee experience is highly valued.
