HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER – FULL TIME

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager is primarily responsible to provide expert consultation, delivery and support for the full spectrum of human resources management for the organization's operations including recruitment and selection, employee communication, training and development, HR policy development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, succession management, employee welfare, rewards & recognition, change management, and strategic human resources management. This position will build and maintain relationships with leadership, suppliers, vendors and national cross-functional teams to ensure and promote a team environment working towards achieving company objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working collaboratively with local leadership, implement the company vision, mission and values to the objectives of the facility to deliver Company Strategic Priorities.
  • Working collaboratively with local leadership, implement objectives and plans, for improving and problem-solving facility specific challenges that will deliver KPI's.
  • Ensure personal and team compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards for people safety, food safety, quality, cost control, waste reduction and complete and on-time delivery.
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective and consistent communications, coaching and training.
  • Foster, support and encourage success for all employees through a collaborative, empathetic leadership style
  • Provide leadership and coaching to managers and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, and employee development.
  • Administer UKG employee performance evaluations for local hourly and salary team members and help to provide employees with real-time performance feedback as needed.
  • Work with supervisors/managers to establish training needs of teams and help implement employee training to ensure they have required competencies to carry out their job responsibilities.
  • Conduct workplace investigations, and work with supervisors/managers to resolve any conflicts that arise among employees, as needed. Handle employee complaints and incidents, including conflict resolution in a timely manner
  • Work with the National Health and Safety Advisor to handle health and safety related incidents, accidents, concerns, work refusals, and investigations.
  • Support the development and success of employees in professional development for their role.
  • Monitor assigned payroll activities and program components for the purpose of ensuring effective department functioning, coordinating activities, and compliance with established financial, legal, and administrative requirements.
  • Effectively manage benefits administration for all applicable local employees
  • Understand, promote, follow and ensure team compliance for all company and regulatory standards including, but not limited to, Provincial Employment Standards and Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS), Food Safety (GMP/SQF), Safe Operating Procedures (SOP's), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
  • Work with supervisors/managers to ensure employees adhere to all health and safety regulations, including company policies.
  • Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
  • Help prepare for payroll processing for local team by ensuring supervisors have approved their team's time and attendance accurately through the HRIS system.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or diploma in business administration, human resources management, or a related field required.
  • CHRP designation preferred but not mandatory
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a human resources generalist position or 2 years in a management position
  • Experience with UKG (preferable)
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • Sound leadership, employee relations, and teambuilding skills.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Ability to interpret and implement employment related legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labor laws.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Full-time, permanent position requiring flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Air-conditioned office and food manufacturing environment
  • Working in a busy office environment
  • Attending and conducting presentations to large groups.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.

Salary: $80,000 to $90,000
