Dental Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental office procedures, and proficiency in electronic medical records systems. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth patient experience and maintaining efficient office operations.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments using practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, direct calls, and take messages accurately
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accordingly
- Collect payments, process billing, and handle financial transactions at the front desk
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and correspondence
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations and patient flow
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary supplies
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a dental or medical office setting
- Proficiency with dental practice management software And recall max assist
- Strong knowledge of medical and dental terminology and electronic medical records systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and billing procedures
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Previous experience with administrative tasks in a dental setting is preferred
