We are looking for an experienced casual instructor to join the Arts and Sciences Diploma Program Instructional Team for the Winter 2026 semester to teach a section of English 1039 "Introduction to Indigenous Literature and Storytelling."

This position requires a flexible schedule, including some evening work.

This position will start January and conclude in late April. We are presently looking to staff a 9:30-12:30pm Wednesday morning section.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Plan and prepare for the instructional delivery of ENGL 1039.
  • Instruct and evaluate students in ENGL 1039.
  • Maintain student and program records for your section of ENGL 1039.
  • Assist with curriculum development within the program where necessary.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Master's degree or higher in English or an associated field.

  • If your education was received internationally we recommend you obtain an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations.

  • Experience teaching under-represented student populations, international students, Indigenous students, and mature students.
  • Connection to and understanding of Indigenous communities, cultures, and traditions, with particular emphasis on storytelling practices. Priority will be given to qualified candidates who identify as First Nations, Metis, or Inuit.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle (Misiwe), Kaltura and/ or other educational technologies considered an asset.

SALARY: Reflective of what you bring, AKA your education and experience. As this is a Faculty role, the pay range is quite large. The Faculty Association agreement outlines how pay is determined.
