Job Profile:
The Controller is responsible for all aspects of the accounting operations of the company to include creating financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budget development and analysis, payroll, cost accounting and inventory accounting
  • Accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Preparation of project cost and work-in-progress reports as well as other month end reporting
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and an orderly accounting filing system
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Complete monthly variance reporting
  • Reconcile bank statements monthly
  • Oversee cash, investment, and asset management
  • Oversee financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships
  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets
  • Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team
  • Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, auditors, public officials, etc.
  • Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions; supervise accounting staff
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
  • Coordinate audits and proper filing of dividends and tax returns
  • Review, monitor and approve accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Maintenance of internal financial control systems
  • Assist in monitoring cash flow and corporate financing
  • Develop and monitor the operating and capital budgets

  • Recommend improvements and develop improvement plans in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions
  • Maintain a well-organized and clean facility as per PMP vision
  • Maintain all equipment and tools per recommended procedures
  • Maintain a healthy work environment and develop employees on a professional level
Qualifications:
  • CPA designation or Accounting degree
  • High level of relevant experience in accounting and finance
  • Experience working in Manufacturing considered an asset
  • Strong background in management and accounting control systems for preventing fraud and error
