General Manager – Full-Time, Year-Round

Remote Fly-In Fishing Lodge | Northern Saskatchewan

Hatchet Lake Lodge is seeking a full-time, year-round General Manager to help lead and operate our remote fly-in fishing lodge in northern Saskatchewan.

This role is for a capable, motivated leader who takes ownership, leads from the front, and understands that performance, accountability, and fit matter—especially in a remote lodge environment.

Hatchet Lake Lodge is a well-established fly-in fishing destination known for exceptional fishing, reliable air access, and a guest-first experience. We operate in a truly remote setting and value professionalism, consistency, and strong leadership.

The Role

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing lodge operations, leading staff, and ensuring a consistently high-quality guest experience. This is a hands-on leadership position during the operating season, with year-round responsibility for planning, staffing, logistics, and operational readiness.

This is a full-time, year-round role, with expectations aligned to results, trust, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day lodge operations during the operating season
  • Lead, manage, and support lodge staff and guides
  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure
  • Coordinate logistics including flights, boats, equipment, and schedules
  • Maintain lodge standards for safety, cleanliness, and professionalism
  • Communicate regularly with ownership on operations and improvements
  • Take ownership of offseason planning, hiring, and preparation

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven leadership or management experience in hospitality, lodges, camps, resorts, or a comparable operational environment
  • Experience managing people and making operational decisions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead calmly under pressure
  • Comfortable working and living in a remote environment
  • High level of personal accountability, organization, and follow-through

Preferred / Assets

  • Experience in a fly-in lodge, remote camp, or similar seasonal operation
  • Background in the outdoor industry, fishing, or guiding
  • Business, management, or hospitality education
  • Experience with staff scheduling, logistics, or operational planning
  • First Aid / CPR (or willingness to obtain)
