Con-Tech General Contractors is an employee-owned leader in commercial, municipal, water & wastewater, and heavy civil infrastructure across Western Canada.

With an expanding portfolio of large, complex infrastructure projects, we are seeking a Senior Civil Estimator to lead complex estimates, support business growth, and play a key role in shaping our continued growth.

As a Senior Civil Estimator, you will lead the estimating process for civil, infrastructure, and heavy construction projects from early budgeting through final submission. This role is ideal for a highly experienced civil estimator who has priced and won $5M–$50M+ infrastructure projects and wants both technical authority and strategic influence within a respected contractor.

You'll work closely with operations, project management, and executive leadership to develop accurate, competitive, and strategic bids while mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation of civil & infrastructure estimates ranging from $1M to $50M+, including unit-rate and lump-sum contracts.
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and contract documents.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
  • Develop bid strategies and pricing methodologies.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
  • Maintain and grow strategic vendor relationships across Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta markets.
  • Identify risk, constructability issues, and value-engineering options.
  • Prepare bid summaries, tender reviews, and executive presentations.
  • Support project handover to construction teams.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators.
  • Provide historical cost data, bid analytics, and market intelligence.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years estimating experience in civil / infrastructure construction
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Earthworks, underground utilities, structures, roads, and concrete
  • Heavy civil construction methods and productivity
  • Proven experience pricing $10M+ projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and risk management skills
  • Ability to lead estimates independently from start to finish
  • Proficiency with estimating software and tools
  • Clear communication and leadership mindset
