Job Description
Qualifications:
As a member of the Management Team, responsible for implementing facility wide initiatives, such as the Integrated Business Plan, on the resident care units.
Participates in setting departmental wide standards, systems and processes.
Facilitates a multi-disciplinary approach to resident care and fosters a collaborative working environment with residents and families.
Establishes a progressive and professional working environment and ensures staff have the appropriate education and training to meet care needs.
Ensures a safe work environment for all staff and complies with OH & S standards.
Hires, manages and disciplines staff as required.
Supports the philosophy of CQI and facilitates the use of CQI tools and techniques in problem solving.
Ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures to meet professional and legislative requirements.
Ensures that human, fiscal and material resources are used effectively and efficiently within the resident care teams.
Monitors Quality and Risk Indicators to identify areas of concern and initiates appropriate actions.
Ensures compliance with corporate processes such as Performance Management Attendance Management and staff development.
Ensures that staff adhere to the standards of care and procedures to comply with Ministry of Health and other legislative requirements.
Acts as an expert resource as needed for effective operation of the Resident Services Department.
Participates as a member of the Professional Advisory Committee and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Participates in internal/external committee work as required.
Participates in the corporate on-call system
