Founded in 1954, Community Living Central York is a non-profit, charitable organization which provides support to people who have an intellectual disability. Facilitate relationships, skills and roles which promote their effective participation in the typical and valued life of the community.POSITION (Classification): SUPPORT WORKERFULL TIME POSITION – DorchesterREPORTING TO: Community Living Supports ManagerHOURS: hours per week (7:00am – 2:30pm)SUNDAY_ THURSDAYHOURLY RATE RANGE: $27.50-$29.19QUALIFICATIONS:DSW or equivalent, preferably with a minimum of two years experience working with people who have an intellectual disabilityAbility to support behavioural needs and protocolsPrevious experience supporting people who have mental health diagnosis and dealing with high anxiety situationsAbility to work independently and as a team memberAbility to follow and create Support Plans Ability to relate to the specific support needs of the people supported at said locationStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsGood communication skills including written and verbalAbility to maintain accurate documentation and some experience schedulingCurrent First Aid, CPR and Non-violent Crisis Intervention certificatesProven use of CPI strategies including verbal de-escalationTraining in dispensing medicationsValid driver's licence, insurance and reliable vehicleCommitment to providing supports to people in accordance with Social Role ValorizationVulnerable Sector ScreeningRESUMES: Sylvia Gray, Workforce Planning Specialist ) by 1:00pm Nov 13, 2025 Community Living Central York is an equal opportunity employer which welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
