Roska DBO Inc. is currently seeking a Civil Designer to work out of our customer's downtown Calgary office. The Civil Designer is responsible for detailed civil design development and for providing design support throughout all project phases, including procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, start-up, and final handover. This is a 12–18 month minimum term role, (Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day).

Key Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Civil Designer or in a design-focused civil role
  • Strong experience with pipeline corridors and rights-of-way (ROW)
  • Experience in road and access road design
  • Proficient in OpenRoads Designer
  • Experience supporting civil design for industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams


Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
  • Perform detailed civil design activities to deliver high-quality, constructible design packages.
  • Develop civil design deliverables including alignments, profiles, grading, drainage, and access roads.
  • Prepare drawings, models, and design documentation using OpenRoads Designer.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operations, and construction teams to ensure design criteria and constructability requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project scope, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Ensure designs are constructible in the field with minimal revisions.
  • Support cost estimate development and project scheduling activities as required.
  • Comply with the Project Quality Management System and applicable company standards.
  • Manage design scope and support change management processes when required.
  • Ensure design deliverables align with applicable safety, environmental, operability, efficiency, and maintainability standards.


Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • P.Eng. designation is not required (considered an asset)
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant civil design experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
