With the continued growth of our business, we are seeking to hire a "QC Packaging Inspector/Label Control Technician" to join our Quality team.

The position requires a person that can

  • Perform GMP sampling and inspection of packaging and label materials.
  • Picks and stages labels, cartons, and shrinkwrap based on Production daily requirements.
  • Return primary packaging materials from Production.
  • Receive and sample primary packaging labels, cartons which includes:
  • Sampling and confirming quantities.
  • Storage of labels in controlled areas.
  • Inspect labels and cartons for Quality Control release.
  • Consolidate and organize label storage areas.
  • Perform disposal of primary packaging materials for destruction.
  • Monitor Warehouse temperature and humidity.
  • Prepare Faulty Packaging Material reports.
  • Maintenance of Retained samples.
  • Assist with rewinding label rolls when required.
  • Send monthly report to Sales department for customer action on customer supplied packaging components and labels which are expired and/or out of version.
  • Assist with retrieving Retained Samples, Raw Material Samples or Batch Records from the Warehouse as required (use of Forklift).
  • Provide assistance with printing master shipper labels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements include

  • Minimum completion of Grade 12.
  • Post secondary courses related to the position will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in the Natural Health Product and/or Food manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and detail, while working within deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and computer skills (MS Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
  • Committed to Safety, Food Safety and Quality practices.
  • Forklift operation is a requirement for this role. Training and certification will be provided.

Shift: Monday to Friday
