We specialize in connecting mills, wholesalers, and distributors in the North American lumber market through efficient, relationship-driven trading. We are now seeking a Trader Trainee who is eager to learn the business of commodity trading and grow into a full-time trader within our team.

About the Role

The Trader Trainee position is designed for individuals with strong analytical skills, business instincts, and a desire to build a long-term career in commodity trading. Working directly with senior traders and management, you'll learn every aspect of the trading process — from market analysis and negotiation to logistics, financial management, and risk assessment. This is a performance-driven role where growth, autonomy, and earning potential increase as you develop your skills and demonstrate consistent results.

Key Responsibilities

As a Trader Trainee, you will:

• Support senior traders with market research, pricing, and daily trading activities.
• Learn to identify market opportunities and negotiate transactions with suppliers and customers.
• Assist in managing inventory positions, shipments, and logistics coordination.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, customers and reloads.
• Uphold all company standards for compliance, ethics, and confidentiality.
• Gradually assume independent trading responsibilities as proficiency increases.
