This position supports and assists the Head Golf Professional and the Golf Pro Shop Manager in the day to day operation of the Cranberry Golf Course. The candidate should possess a supervisory background along with a working knowledge of golf operations and golf teaching experience to deliver excellent customer service to our members, guests and the general public.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Responsible for the golf teaching program – marketing, promoting and scheduling lessons
  • Provide group lessons and member clinic programming
  • Assist in overseeing the planning and execution of all member leagues and tournaments
  • Assist in registering golfers for league play and tournaments
  • Assist in setting up markers for league play
  • Communicate with Golf Maintenance management on any tournament preparation and course closures
  • Assist in scheduling and supervising golf operations staff (Pro shop & Back Shop Attendants) including volunteers
  • Assist with proper opening and closing procedures at the Pro Shop are completed including the proper opening and lock up of the facility.
  • Booking and managing all tee times
  • Assist with merchandising and managing pro shop inventory
  • Assist with requisitions and maintain sufficient inventory and supplies
  • Ensuring accurate entering of orders, sales, discounts, proper cash management and completes daily cash balancing.
  • Entering daily sales transactions into Quick Books
  • Oversee clubhouse and back shop cleanliness both indoors and outdoors
  • Provide exemplary customer service which includes but is not limited to greeting members and the public, answering the phone, fielding and directing inquiries
  • Sales/processing of memberships, punch passes, green cart rentals and inventory along with recording all such sales as directed
  • Be informer and promote all club activities and services
  • Manage the club repair side of business
  • Oversee the charging, rotating and cleaning of golf carts
  • Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage
  • Adheres to all Health & Saftey policies and procedures and works in a safe manner at all times
  • May perform other duties and functions as assigned based on business levels throughout the golf course and resort and any organizational changes as directed by the Executive Vice President

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Golf Professional an asset
  • Enrolled or completion of a PGM Program preferred but not required
  • Working experience with Chrono Golf POS system
  • Strong computer skills in MS Word and Excel software, QuickBooks program
  • Strong knowledge of the game of golf, rules, tournament and league formats

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors
  • Must be able to bend, reach, lift at least 30lbs
  • Must be able to walk and stand on average of 8 hours per shift
