Patient Registration ClerK

CONDITIONS:

Temporary Part-time (0.70 FTE) for approximately eight (8) months

HOURS:

Approximately 52.5 Bi-weekly Hours

SHIFTS:

Days / Evenings / Weekends / Rotation

7.5 Hours per shift (subject to change)

WAGE RANGE:

Scale Minimum Maximum

NONU $27.68/hr $33.55/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collect and maintain patient records according to medical standards and regulatory requirements (ie. PHIPA); Prioritize positive client experience through effective and efficient communication and service delivery that's in alignment with organizational values.
• Maintain Hospital's patient census, ensuring accurate admitted patient bed assignment through inter-departmental collaboration.
• Perform clerical and administrative duties in alignment with established policies and protocols to ensure efficient and optimal departmental operations, while always maintaining professionalism and a highly level of confidentiality.
• Train new patient registration clerks following established policies and processes.
• Order and maintain stock of departmental supplies necessary for regular operations.
• Support registration areas throughout the hospital as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma
• 1 year experience in front line customer service in a health care setting
• Medical Terminology Certificate
• Strong client service skills
• Experience working with an EHR

PREFERRED

• Medical Office Administration diploma or related
• 3 years' experience in front line customer service in a health care setting
