Position Overview :

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Psychometrist functions as an integral member of the Clinical Services multidisciplinary team. This position supports the delivery of culturally safe, trauma-informed, and evidence-based assessment and intervention services across the lifespan.

The Psychometrist is responsible for administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological and psychoeducational assessments for children, youth, adults, and families, as well as providing case management navigation, psychoeducation, and supportive counselling within their scope of practice. The role involves regular travel to district and First Nation communities to support accessible and coordinated mental health services.

The Psychometrist works collaboratively with all Dilico programs to assess current service delivery, identify opportunities for improvement, and participate in strategies that enhance client care and service integration. Clinical consultation and oversight are provided by one of the agency's Psychologists, specifically related to assessment practices, report writing, recommendations, and service planning for clients referred to or seen by the Psychologist.

The Psychometrist must demonstrate professionalism, cultural humility, and adherence to ethical standards consistent with the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) Ethical Guidelines, while ensuring all practices reflect the vision, mission, and core values of Dilico Anishinabek Family Care.

QUALIFICATIONS 

1. Education 

  • Master's Degree in Psychology or a closely related field with coursework in psychological testing and assessment is required.  An undergraduate degree in Psychology and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Additional certification or training in psychological assessment tools, cognitive testing, or psychometric methods is considered an asset.

2. Work Experience 

  1. Minimum of two (2) years of experience conducting psychological or psychoeducational assessments, including test administration, scoring, and report preparation.
  2. Experience working within a multidisciplinary or community mental health setting, preferably serving Indigenous populations.
  3. Experience providing case coordination, follow-up support, and psychoeducation to clients and families.
  4. Demonstrated experience collaborating with Psychologists, clinicians, and community partners to enhance service delivery.
  5. Experience in data collection, quality assurance, and program evaluation related to assessment outcomes is an asset.
  6. Strong knowledge of psychological assessment principles, testing procedures, and ethical practice standards.
  7. Ability to administer standardized psychological measurement tools competently, including, but not limited to: WISC5, WAIS3, WIAT3, WASI, CEFI, ABAS, BASC, ADOS (note, training can be provided if needed)

Hours of Work: 32.5 hours per week
