Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Adventure Guide to lead outdoor activities and ensure memorable experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for outdoor adventures, and the ability to engage diverse groups. This role offers an exciting opportunity to share your love for nature while providing exceptional customer service in a fun and energetic environment.

Duties

  • Lead and facilitate outdoor adventure activities such as hiking and team-building exercises
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times and assist guests with equipment and instructions
  • Provide engaging and informative commentary about the environment, wildlife, and local history of Banff National Park and surrounding area.
  • Manage group dynamics, ensuring all participants are included and comfortable
  • Maintain equipment and activity areas to ensure safety and cleanliness
  • Assist with guest check-in, registration, and answering questions about activities and local attractions
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment

Requirements

  • IGA Apprentice or Professional Certification with 4 season Group Management or equivalent.
  • Class 4 Alberta License with clean drivers abstract.
  • Standard First Aid (16hrs) or higher. Preference giving for Wilderness First Aid+
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage audiences of all ages
  • Experience in public speaking, teaching, or leading groups in outdoor settings is preferred
  • Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse guests
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
  • Strong time management skills to coordinate activities efficiently
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide participants safely
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift equipment as needed
  • Prior experience in outdoor recreation or adventure guiding is desirable but not mandatory
  • Must be able to pass background checks and adhere to safety standards

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $25.00-$28.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 35 per week
