Key Responsibilities

  • Full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple active infill and construction projects
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments and client invoicing
  • Prepare and manage client progress billings, draw packages, and invoicing schedules
  • Oversee and process semi-monthly payroll with accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain job costing, cost codes, PO tracking, and perform budget-to-actual reviews
  • Oversee monthly GST reporting, filings, and government remittances
  • Complete monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
  • Prepare internal financial reports, cash-flow summaries, and project-level statements
  • Work with external accounting partners to ensure accurate year-end reporting
  • Maintain organized and detailed financial records in QuickBooks
  • Provide ownership with financial insights, forecasting, and recommendations

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of bookkeeping experience in construction or infill development
  • Advanced QuickBooks experience (mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of:

  • Semi-monthly payroll processing

  • Client invoicing and progress billing
  • Job costing and multi-project financial tracking
  • GST reporting and government remittances
  • Draw schedules, holdbacks, POs, COs, and construction cost flows

  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be available to work full-time on-site in Edmonton
