To achieve this, we have developed The Globe Pulsed Field System – a revolutionary solution designed by our world-class technical team. The Globe System offers strong, unique, and customer-valued advantages over other treatments on the market, and leading physicians are already using it and helping to share our story.

We have obtained FDA approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients

As our "Systems Engineer – Software", you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary engineering team, working across the software, electrical, and biomedical research domains. Your daily activities will center around developing tools for, as well as performing, system analysis activities. This includes leading investigations into software and electrical system behaviour and supporting product design and process development.

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful Work You Will Be a Part Of

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining system analysis software tools
  • Developing and documenting software and algorithms for R&D product features
  • Analyzing behavior of the system to assess robustness, stability, and correct implementation
  • Investigating issues identified during verification and during clinical use of the Globe System
  • Informing system level software and electrical specifications of the product
  • Working closely with software, electrical, and biomedical research teams to improve analysis methods and inform future designs

About
Our Kardium team is smart, creative, and passionate about creating cutting-edge medical devices to help improve people's lives. We work within a collaborative environment based on trust and respect and we understand that only by working together can we solve the unsolvable. You bring to the team these characteristics, plus:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science
  • Experience with software design. Familiarity with electrical systems design is a plus
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, Java, and C
  • Experience with signal processing and large data-set analysis
  • Experience with developing data management tools, including designing and implementing databases and cloud computing solutions is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills, including organization, curiosity, and interest in learning
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • High degree of drive and motivation

The successful applicant will be a driven software developer who is interested in biomedical/system data processing, analysis, and visualization, and has a high level of organization, autonomy, and interest in learning

Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium's stock option plan.

  • $76,000 - $102,000 (CAD Annually)
