About The Role
Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is seeking a Ready-Mix Truck Driver in Nelson, BC (West Kootenays).
Main Responsibilities
- Must be able to safely operate a Ready Mix Truck.
- Complete driving assignments in a timely and safe manner.
- The applicant must be able to lift and move product sometimes involving strenuous labour.
- Ability to work extended hours & irregular days with irregular breaks.
- Will be required to maintain necessary logs, driving records and DOT certifications.
- Complete daily pre and post trip inspections of vehicle.
- Complete adhoc tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Perform a variety of tasks as needed or required when not delivering concrete.
- Must be willing to travel and work out town occasionally when required or necessary.
Requirements
- Have at a minimum an active Class 3 license (preference to Class 1)
- Pass a MVR and a Drug Test
- Experience operating a Ready Mix Truck or Gravel Truck in construction areas is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to perform manual labor.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Working Conditions
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required.
- Willing to work in field and in all weather conditions.
- Willing to work overtime (may include weekends) during the busy season (April to October) and on call as necessary.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
- This is a safety sensitive position; selected candidate must pass drug and alcohol testing as required

Compensation Data
This is a unionized position.
During the three-month probationary period, the hourly wage is 85% of the standard rate, which equates to $31.02/hour. Upon successful completion of probation, the wage increases to the full rate of $36.49/hour.
