Experience
- Ongoing experience in the travel industry or as a Travel Consultant is required.
- Strong knowledge of popular travel destinations and booking systems is a plus. Apollo / Galileo GDS hands on are mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
- Proficiency in using technology for research and booking purposes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple client itineraries simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Engage with clients to understand their travel preferences and requirements.
- Provide expert advice on destinations, accommodations, transportation, and activities.
- Create customized travel itineraries that align with client interests and budgets.
- Manage bookings for flights, hotels, car rentals, and other travel services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel trends, destinations, and industry regulations.
- Handle any issues or changes that may arise before or during the client's trip.
Skills
- Proven sales skills with the ability to upsell travel packages and services effectively.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple client requests simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy in bookings and itineraries.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Canadian residency, residing in Edmonton and area & minimum of 2+ years experience as a travel consultant
- Must have a passion for travel and creating memorable experiences
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively considered an asset
- Experience with VCRM and Sirev/SoftVoyage an asset
- Professional communication (written and verbal)
- Strong Attention to detail
- Act with integrity, and possess a strong understanding of the travel industry
- Teamwork and openness to feedback considered an asset
