Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a baker. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic food environment, focusing on creating visually appealing and delicious baked goods. The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in breads, laminated pastry doughs, and donuts with a strong commitment to food safety and product quality. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced team setting and delivering exceptional products to our customers.

While final hours are to be determined, expect starting times anywhere from 11pm to 2am.

We are enthusiastic supporters of bakers as they go through Red Seal Baker & Pastry Chef apprenticeship programs at George Brown and Niagara culinary schools.

Duties

  • Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and desserts
  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as mixing, assembling, and packaging products
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area according to food safety standards
  • Handle food products safely, ensuring proper storage and handling procedures are followed
  • Package baked goods securely for retail display or delivery purposes
  • Follow recipes accurately and adhere to quality standards during all stages of production

Requirements

  • Prior experience or training in baking, or food preparation is preferred
  • Experience working in a retail or wholesale bakery environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team setting
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with precision
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the workplace

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: $725.00-$880.00 per week
