What was the inspiration for Bacaro?

While wandering in Venice, you might be lucky enough to stumble upon a bacaro; far from the crowds, tucked away on side streets and alongside canals, a bacaro is a quintessential Northern Italian wine bar. Taking its name from the Venetian word for 'wine' or a 'good bar', (or perhaps from the ancient Roman god of wine, Bacchus), their ambience and charm can't help but invite guests in for a bite and an aperitivo – or four. We hope to emulate the same experience in our own city at Bacaro.

Who you are:

  • A hospitality-driven leader with 2+ years of management experience
  • Excited about executing a high level of guest experience
  • Calm, kind, and confident when interacting with guests and staff
  • Experience with scheduling and controlling beverage & labour costs
  • Bartending experience considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Italian aperitivi, food and wine considered an asset (WSET is a plus)
  • Availability to work day/night/weekends
  • Serving it Right & Foodsafe Level 1 required
