What to Expect: 

We are looking for a Medical Affairs Manager to support Retail, reporting into the Senior Manager of Medical Affairs, Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements. You will collaborate internally in strategic decisions, act as reputable scientific partner externally with key collaborators. As a Medical Affairs Manager supporting Retail and Consumer channels you will be working closely with the Nature's Bounty, Vital Proteins, Garden of Life and Sisu brand managers and related regulatory partners. You will be involved in strategic planning and work collaboratively with the Medical Affairs Manager supporting Health Care Providers (HCPs).

 A day in the life:

  • Translate scientific literature and knowledge related to the traditional use of Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements to educate other internal & external collaborators
  • Work with stakeholders to capture insights for business decisions and offer strategic advice as an integral partner in business planning and Innovation & Renovation process
  • Offer scientific and medical guidance for the creation of Marketing tools like Customer materials and communications, detail aids, and claims development, guaranteeing scientific integrity
  • Spearhead the development of educational materials crafted for consumers and health food store employees; present content as necessary and mentor a group of Health Consultants to deliver
  • Support the development of internal assets and training in conjunction with the Sales Force Excellence team to aid Territory Managers (TMs) with clinical and scientific knowledge to improve selling opportunities
  • Help coordinate presence and participation in national workshops/conferences
  • Lead a team of Medical Advisors to support execution of education initiatives

Role Requirements

  • MSc Nutritional Sciences, RD (Masters level or equivalent experience), PhD, MD, or ND
  • Experience providing adult education and/or training
  • Strong leadership skills and critical thinking; able to assume strategic lead role for medical affairs in project teams
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to influence are necessary to present to different levels within the organization and externally to key collaborators
  • Proven track record to run multiple tasks and self-prioritize to meet the changing needs of the business, with excellent time and project management while paying attention to detail
  • Motivated as an independent initiator with a curiosity about thinking creatively to capture additional business prospects in the HFS/Consumer sector
  • Proficient digital literacy, specifically with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
