Occupational Therapist

What You'll Be Doing: We have an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our Lower Mainland group in either a full-time or part-time contractor capacity. For the current employment opportunity, we require candidates to have at least one year of experience providing return-to-work rehabilitation services or other job site experiences (job demands analyses, ergonomic analyses, return-to-work organization with employers at the job site). Experience in community-based therapy or functional capacity evaluations is also an asset.
The role of the Occupational Therapist includes but is not limited to:
- Conduct functional assessments (physical and cognitive) in the Lower Mainland.
- Develop a graded work simulation program.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and monitor graduated return-to-work plans.
- Perform job site visits.
- Assist with job coaching.
- Provide timely written and/or verbal communication of assessment findings and treatment outcomes.
- Provide ongoing individualized education to clients, with a focus on a timely and safe return to work.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- For the current employment opportunity, we request candidates to have 12 months of experience as an Occupational Therapist with 6 months of experience with return-to-work rehabilitation services, functional assessments, or other job site experiences (job demands analyses, ergonomic analyses, return to work organization with employers at the job site). Training and mentorship are available for candidates who do not quite meet the requirements.
- A Bachelors or Masters's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. (CHCPBC).
- Possess malpractice insurance of at least $5 million per occurrence.
- Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, as well as independently.
- Have excellent clinical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to various job sites around the Lower Mainland.
