Music Education Specialist (Teacher Development & Training)

Full-Time | Multi-Location Leadership Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Music Education Specialist to support, train, and inspire a team of 70 music teachers across 4 locations. This role is perfect for a leader who loves coaching educators, improving student experiences, and building strong, positive teaching cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support music teachers through regular check-ins and coaching sessions.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide actionable feedback.
  • Set performance goals, build accountability systems, and track progress.
  • Design and deliver teacher training, onboarding, and professional development.
  • Strengthen teacher and student retention through relationship-building and quality improvements.
  • Develop teaching resources, curriculum tools, and best-practice guidelines.
  • Identify performance gaps and create improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with location managers to ensure consistent program quality.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding new teachers as the team grows.

Qualifications

  • Extensive background in music education such as B of Ed.
  • Leadership or coaching experience in an educational or arts environment.
  • Strong communication, initiative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, and hold others accountable.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and time-management abilities.
  • Comfortable visiting multiple locations and managing diverse teams.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position with a strong emphasis on teacher support, professional development, and improving the student experience. You will play a key role in raising the standard of teaching, building community across locations, and developing confident, successful educators.

Hours and Location

Please note the hours are approximately 1pm-9pm Mondays to Thursday and alternating Friday evenings and Saturday daytimes. Preference will be given to applicants who indicate their willingness to work these "unusual" hours and who have a working vehicle to drive between our 4 locations in Etobicoke and Oakville.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
