Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that our manufacturing operations run smoothly by sourcing high-quality materials at competitive prices. The Buyer will play a crucial role in vendor management, negotiation, and maintaining effective supply chain relationships to meet our organizational needs.

Duties

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with contracts and quality standards.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate pricing structures.
  • Utilize ERP systems and MRP tools to manage inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, logistics, and finance, to align purchasing strategies with business objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels in SAP or similar systems.

Experience

  • Proven experience in purchasing or procurement within a building materials environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of vendor management practices and supply chain principles.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings.
  • Ability to analyze pricing trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
