JLM Supply Ltd. was founded in 1981 with primary offerings of Valves & Strainers for the Oil & Gas Industry in Western Canada. General Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Production Lead, the Waterjet Operator is responsible to work within a team environment to accomplish internal/external customer requirements. We are looking for a progressive, client-focused professional with talent, initiative and drive to grow within our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate high-speed water jet cutter to cut and trim parts from assorted materials according to specifications
  • Read work order list, drawings, and specifications to determine machine setup, type of material or part, quantity, and finished dimensions
  • Measure and mark cutting and trimming lines on material or part, using measuring instruments, scriber, or marking pen, or mounts material or part in cutting or trimming fixture
  • Install and align machine accessories, such as cutting tips, work positioner, plates, fixtures, and shields, using hand tools and measuring instruments, or enters coordinate information into computer control panel, using mouse and keyboard
  • Manipulate machine controls, such as buttons, switches, dials, levers, and pedals, to regulate and adjust cutting speed and flow of fluid
  • Observe displays, cutting or trimming process, and listen to sound of machines to detect malfunctions
  • Replace worn or damaged machine parts, such as nozzles, tips, and washers
  • Measure dimensions of finished part, to ensure accuracy of product
  • Pour abrasive particles into hopper of machine
  • Clean machines and work area
  • Trim, sand, and/or drill parts, using shop equipment

Qualifications:

  • Must show aptitude for math, problem-solving, computer, mechanical and technical skills
  • Must be able to display the ability to pay close attention to detail
  • AutoCad abilities would be considered an asset
  • Certifications would be considered an asset

Experience:

Minimum 2 years (required) working in a fast-paced distribution/manufacturing environment

  • Set Up Experience: 1 year
  • Operating Experience: 1 year
  • Machine Maintenance Experience: 1 year
