About Us:At SMJ Youth Services, we are dedicated to supporting youth with complex special needs and youth undergoing criminal rehabilitation. We offer a range of services, including community support, in-home care, and 24-hour care in licensed, staff-model homes.

We are looking for compassionate, skilled, and flexible individuals to join our team as Residential Support Workers, providing essential care and support to youth in their journey toward growth and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and supervision to youth with diverse needs in various settings.
  • Support youth in achieving personal goals, building life skills, and maintaining positive behaviour.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, and recreational activities.
  • Facilitate community outings and promote social engagement.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Uphold a safe and supportive environment for youth in care.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Community Justice Service, Psychology) or higher education.
  • Valid G-class driver's license.
  • Valid First Aid CPR
  • Experience working with youth with complex special needs and/or youth involved in criminal rehabilitation is an asset.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights (awake shifts), and weekends.

Please note this role can be anywhere from the Belleville area to Kingston and surrounding areas. You will not just be assigned to one location.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $21.00-$27.00 per hour
