Position Overview:

We're on the hunt for a creative, resourceful, and visually-driven Social Media Coordinator to join our growing marketing team. As a member of West of Main's Marketing Department, you will be part of the team responsible for delivering innovative and brand-propelling marketing to West of Main across product, brand, corporate, promotional and event initiatives. You'll partner closely with Brand Marketing, Design Services, and Customer Service to attract, activate, retain, and reactivate online customers. You will play a pivotal role in attracting followers and turning followers into lifelong fans. You'll be the architect behind our digital presence, capturing attention, telling our brand story, and cultivating a community of followers that feel as passionately about design as we do. As the heartbeat of West of Main's online identity, you'll be responsible for crafting beautiful, engaging content and building meaningful relationships with our social communities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Engagement and Social Community Management:

  • Engage our customers throughout their journey, with considered marketing at all stages.
  • Manage our social communities through identification, attraction, and engagement of followers.
  • Lead and motivate the team responsible for engaging with our customers daily in an authentic, brand-propelling way.
  • Offer customer service to our online community as needed.

Content Creation and Strategy Development

  • Define an approach for social media that achieves the business and creative objectives.
  • Develop enticing and creative content that promotes our products and services
  • Elevate the client experience and position West of Main through social media posts
  • Align social media content calendar with campaigns, project and product launches
  • Execute flawlessly on the creative vision
  • Assist/collaborate on the development and execution of our strategy for how we position and promote our products, services, and work online, primarily on social media.
  • Create captivating and innovative photo and video content during project photoshoots, at the West of Main showroom, community events, and various other engagements.

Interior Design Copywriting

  • Crafting compelling, inspirational, and informative captions that align with the world of interior design.
  • Translating design concepts, products, and spaces into descriptive narratives that engage and connect with our audience.
  • Writing captivating captions for social media platforms that evoke emotion and align with the West of Main brand voice.
  • Writing original and creative content (text, image, and video)
  • Creating compelling captions and posts tailored to each social media platform (Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, and Facebook).

Video Content Creation

  • Producing high-quality video content (e.g., Reels and other social media videos).
  • Capturing designer walkthroughs for design projects with mic.
  • Editing video content for social media, ensuring a cohesive brand story and aesthetic.
  • Posting video content across platforms and ensuring they are optimized for engagement.
  • Creating engaging film reels for social media, integrating music, motion, and transitions to capture the attention of the audience.
  • Editing raw footage and ensuring final videos are polished, aligned with brand voice, and ready for distribution across platforms.

Innovation and Growth

  • Proactively identify and adopt new social media platforms and drive continuous improvement across our tools and technology.
  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness
  • Lead strategic social media initiatives that elevate the client experience and position West of Main as an innovator in the industry.
  • Stay up-to-date on changing algorithms and app features on our most-used platforms.

Partnerships and Collaborations

  • Build and maintain positive relationships for collaborations and partnerships.
  • Oversee distribution of media & marketing kits for partnerships.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the field of Social Media, Design or a relevant field.

Social Content Whiz:

  • You understand how to capture and assemble captivating social media content across various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube).
  • You know how to rework content based on what you know works for each social media platform.
  • Ability to deliver original and creative content (text, image, and video).
  • You can write engaging, grammatically correct captions adaptable to our brand voice.

An Aesthetic Eye:

  • You're drawn to beautiful things and understand how colour, texture, motion, and music all work together to create visually appealing social media content that is cohesive, complementary, and on-brand.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of design and style, including trends and trend leaders.
  • An understanding of Canva, Adobe Rush.

Tech Savvy:

  • You're comfortable with social media and project management tools like Planoly, and Asana.
  • Working knowledge of Google Drive/G-suits/Google Docs and iMac would be considered assets.
  • Ability to take and edit quality social media video content (e.g., Reels, GIFs, and other video content).

Analytical Skills:

  • You're able to think critically using data from social media platforms and Google Analytics.
  • You can transform data into insights and hypotheses, then make decisions and changes based on data.
  • Strong knowledge and passion for business development – we want someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who wants to help our business grow.
  • Commitment to quality and investing in results that add value to the business.

  • You know how to plan and manage a content calendar and have contingency plans ready in case something in your calendar changes.
