What is the Opportunity?

We are looking for a
Data Engineer
to join a newly created 12-month contract role. This position will support large-scale retail and e-commerce data initiatives, working with complex datasets to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality data solutions that enable business and marketing insights.

You will play a key role in designing and maintaining data pipelines, optimizing processes, and ensuring data quality across cloud-based platforms.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.

  • Develop and optimize data workflows using SQL and Python.

  • Work with Google BigQuery and cloud-based data environments (GCP).

  • Translate business requirements into effective data solutions.

  • Ensure data accuracy, governance, and performance across large datasets.

  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Document data processes, pipelines, and best practices.

  • Support ongoing enhancements to data infrastructure and reporting capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in data engineering, including pipeline and ETL development.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.

  • Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery and cloud platforms (GCP preferred).

  • Experience working with large, complex datasets in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data quality.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to take feedback, remain agile, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
