Job Title: Graduate Electrical Engineer – Data Centre Operations
Location: Markham, Ontario   
Job Type: Full-Time, on-site at Markham. On-call & after office hours as required

Summary:
Pathway Communications is seeking recent graduates in Electrical Engineering who have hands-on exposure or internship experience in data centre operations. This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about power systems, critical infrastructure, and data centre reliability. You'll be part of a dynamic engineering and operations team supporting high-availability environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the maintenance, monitoring, and operation of electrical and power distribution systems within data centres.

  • Assist in troubleshooting power and infrastructure issues (UPS, PDUs, switchgear, generators).

  • Participate in routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and load testing activities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational uptime and safety compliance.

  • Assist in documenting and analyzing equipment performance, load capacity, and incident reports.

  • Contribute to energy efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (recent graduate or final-year student).

  • Prior co-op, internship, or full time / part-time experience in data centre operations or facilities engineering.

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuit analysis, and safety protocols.

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work in a 24x7 environment as required for critical support.

  • Knowledge of HVAC, fire suppression, and monitoring systems is an asset.

    Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools.

  • Exposure to ISO 27001 / 9001 environments or similar quality frameworks.

  • Understanding of power redundancy and failover systems.
