Barista/Server/Cashier

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Bartender/Server/Cashier. This role combines the skills of a barista, cashier and server, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment. You will be responsible for crafting delicious beverages, taking orders, delivering exceptional service, and ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all our guests. This position requires a passion for and commitment to offering an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Bartender/Barista:

• Prepare and serve a wide variety of beverages, including specialty coffee drinks, Hong Kong milk teas, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, all with a focus on quality and consistency.
• Prepare espresso based coffee drinks and latte art
• Ensure all beverages are prepared according to SAAN SAAN's unique recipes and presentation standards.
• Educate customers on the different types of beverages and menu items, and answer any questions they may have.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station, bar equipment, tools and surfaces.
• Ensure consistent inventory through regular inventories and recipe adherence – maintain liquor and bar supplies
• Ensure safe and responsible alcohol service as per all Serving It Right Regulations

As a Server/Cashier:

• Knowledgeable about SAAN SAAN including all products, menus and promotions - be able to relate all information in appealing and informative manner to all guests
• Provide the guest suggestions/recommendations for food and beverages based on their wants or needs
• Take customer orders accurately, ensuring all dietary restrictions are clearly communicated to the kitchen.
• Ensure food is presented with exceptional level of detail prior to delivering to guests
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and professionally, ensuring an exceptional dining experience.
• Provide friendly and efficient service, making sure each customer feels welcome and valued.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including resetting tables and ensuring a tidy environment for all guests.
• Clearing, setting, polishing, and cleaning tables, glassware and utensils.

Additional Duties:

• Processing bills and tacking payment. Handle cash and card transactions as outlined in company policies. Touch Bistro POS experience is a plus.
• Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and helping to maintain the café's overall appearance.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen and other team members to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
• Stay up-to-date with new menu offerings and seasonal drinks, and be ready to share those with customers enthusiastically.
• Handle guest concerns with and without the support of the management team
• Other duties may be assigned as required

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year related barista/bartending experience
• Minimum of 2 year experience in a full-service restaurant environment
• Relevant barista experience including knowledge and preparation of espresso based coffee drinks, coffee extraction, milk texturing, and latte art
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude, calm and kind demeanor with guests and staff.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for helping others.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including daytime, evening, weekday and weekend shifts
• Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 25lbs, must be able to stoop and bend
• Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions
• Current and valid Serving It Right certification
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Fluency in English both written and verbal
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to memorize and complete multiple orders at one time

Schedule:

• Must be available to work daytime shifts
• Weekend shifts are mandatory
