About The Role
We're looking for a Sr. Underwriter or Specialist to join our growing Contract Surety team

What You'll Do Here

• Compare the company's product offering to the competition.
• Gather market intelligence by working directly with distribution, brokers and customers.
• Help to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research, market analysis, and strong relationship building.
• Effectively manage complex new business, renewals, and handle referrals from team members,
• Relying on your expertise in underwriting, offer guidance to colleagues and support distribution underwriters on complex risks
• Be present in the market, participating in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events
• Support with product development, helping shape the future of our offering
• Contribute to strategy development and lead by example to help drive performance
• Inspire innovation by bringing fresh thinking and creative solutions to help our team thrive‎

What You Bring To The Table

• Minimum of 7 years experience in Contract Surety
• University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, investigate and analyze information.
• Highly organized, with the ability to work towards our purpose while adapting to change in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to stay focused and adaptable through changing priorities and shifting market conditions
• Comfortable engaging across all levels of the organization with confidence and respect
• High level of integrity and accountability
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word & PowerPoint
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
