HVAC Systems Testing, Adjusting, Balancing Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring HVAC systems are operating efficiently and in accordance with design specifications. This role involves fieldwork, data collection, and collaboration with engineers, contractors, and commissioning agents to deliver high-performance building systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform testing, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC systems including air and hydronic systems.
  • Use specialized instruments to measure airflow, pressure, temperature, and system performance.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and balancing reports.
  • Identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed TAB reports for submission to clients and project teams.
  • Collaborate with commissioning agents, contractors, and building owners to ensure system compliance.
  • Maintain calibration and proper use of TAB instruments and tools.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company standards on all job sites.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in TAB or HVAC system diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with NEBB, AABC, or TABB standards and procedures.
  • Proficiency with TAB instruments such as manometers, anemometers, flow hoods, and hydronic meters.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and control schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Local industry work experience, 2+ years.
  • Certification from NEBB, AABC, or TABB.
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS).
