Job Summary

The SRT Operator Technician performs solder and manual assembly of various electronic components and SRT thermal profiles. Operating the SRT machine and responsible for creating and updating the SRT machine profiles and tooling.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform assigned production steps per work instructions
  • Develop SRT profiles, and set up tooling and procedures
  • Create, update and maintain SRT programs
  • Solder through hole and SMT components on the PCB
  • Communicate all issues found during hand soldering to the Supervisor
  • Verify all processes are performed to the documentation
  • Co-ordinate with shift Supervisor and take priorities from them for work
  • Integrate product if required, will include simple assembly instructions
  • Repair and rework through hole and SMT components
  • Operate repair stations
  • Handle and store materials/boards using ESD guidelines.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained all through the production.
  • Position may involve physical demands such as lifting of heavy objects
  • Perform any other relevant tasks to help any other area in production as needed

Education, Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of electronic assemblies including through hole and SMT components, drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMS)
  • Knowledge of quality systems and ESD control
  • Experience with IPC Standards with respect to PCB repair and ISO 9002 would be an asset
  • Ability to read drawings, Bills of Material (BOMS) and schematics
  • Team player
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of SRT operation experience
  • Certificate or Diploma in Electronics or enrolled in a technical school
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge an asset
  • Experience with IPC Standards and ISO 9002 would be helpful.
  • Police reference check required

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

  • SMT components, drawings and Bill of Materials: 2 years (preferred)
  • IPC Standards and ISO 9002: 2 years (preferred)
  • SRT operation: 3 years (preferred)
