Summary of Position

Seeking experienced individuals with working knowledge of building products able to provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide solutions to their problems. Whether it's over the phone, behind the desk or on the sales floor, customer service is their top priority and they will go above and beyond to exceed the customer's expectations. LBM Sales Associates are positive, energetic, passionate individuals who display a genuine positive attitude. They excel under pressure and perform strongly in both individual and team environments. Core company values and policies are upheld while aiming to enhance the customer's shopping experience. LBM Sales Consultants may branch off to specialize in a particular area of service such as small package sales or contract sales.

EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED

• Must be able to communicate effectively with management, employees, and delivery personnel.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to read and comprehend written and printed materials.
• Must use basic arithmetic skills to verify orders, invoices, shipping, and packing documents.
• Must have moderate math and computer skills.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Firmly understands and maintains company values, policies and procedures
• Considerable knowledge of products and applications

• Strong mathematical background and the ability to accurately conduct routine calculations

• Proficient with Profit Master and all department-related equipment
• Capable of heavy lifting and standing for long periods of time
• Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis
• Maintains a flexible work schedule and can fulfill position's requirements.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written communication
• Conduct "Morning Walk" on floor
• New Products arrived
• Products we are low or out of stock on
• Identify and resolve potential problems with orders and inventory
• Greet, recognize and respond to customer's needs (information, direction, physical assistance)
• Provide a variety of sales-related functions
• Engage customer to qualify them and provide solutions to their problems
• Take orders in person or over the phone
• Submit price requests and follow up in a timely manner
• Special order products for customers and follow up in a timely manner
• Provide material estimates for small packages and follow up in a timely manner
• Fill out credit slips and inspect product as part of the return procedure
• Cut keys, moulding, rope, chain, etc.
• Answer the phone and pages when required
• Operate variety of equipment such as key machine, pallet jack, chain/rope cutter etc.
• Assist team members with additional duties such as assembly, signs, housekeeping, restock
• Promote safety and security as part of loss prevention practices
• Provide carry-out service as required
• Other duties as assigned
