The Opportunity
Vermilion Energy is currently seeking a Surface Land Analyst or if applicable qualifications, a Surface Land Coordinator/Analyst combo. This position reports to the Manager, Surface Land & Indigenous Relations, and is responsible for area coordination with external brokers for all Freehold and Crown acquisitions of surface leases, easements/pipelines, and facilities as it relates to the asset team needs along with administration for additional asset team(s).
What You Will Do
- Area coordination with external brokers for all Freehold and Crown acquisitions of surface leases, easements/pipelines, and facilities as it relates to the asset team needs
- Area administration/support for at least one other Vermilion asset team
- Documentation and requesting road use cheques where required
- Input, updating and maintenance of surface acquisitions and pipeline and well surface information into CS Explorer
- Request cheques for surface documentation and ensure prompt payment
- Asset team meeting attendance, scout and survey meeting attendance along with maintenance of internal track sheets for capital programs that are used in meetings
- Confirm caveat registration of newly acquired pipelines and surface leases with Land Titles
- Ensure caveats, withdrawal of caveats and transfer of caveats are processed and registered with Land Titles
- Prepare and/or review assignments & transfers for surface documents
- Coordinating internally or with broker agents on rental reviews or freehold problems that arise
- Review, code and approve invoices from brokers
- Review of rental calendars and obligations
- Respond to landowner queries as required and in a prompt manner
- Transfer pipeline & wellsite licenses with AER
- Provide support to the HSE group on abandonment and reclamation programs
- Provide support to field operations inquiries
- Provide support to Manager in process implementation and data entry accuracy
- Advise asset team of key regulation changes and assist with adapting to these changes

What You Will Bring
- Previous Surface Land Administration experience is required, minimum 8-10 years combination Land Broker and in-house experience
- Proficient use of CS Explorer and related processes
- Proven surface land professional within Alberta jurisdictions
- British Columbia surface land coordination and/or administration experience an asset
- System experience in CS Explorer, Stackdx (road use and 3rd party management), AFE Navigator, Geoscout, Excel proficiency, Sharepoint and Powervision considered beneficial
- Recognized Land program Diploma or Certification
