In this role, you'll provide crucial support, skill-building, and advocacy to guide youth toward their goals, while fostering independence and resilience through community-based programs and collaborative case management. Reporting to the Program Manager, the selected candidate will support youth through intake, case management, and goal setting while building positive relationships and modeling appropriate behavior. You will assess their needs, assist with skill development programs, and help reduce crisis situations through problem-solving and planning. A key part of your role will be navigating through the city of Surrey to confirm curfew compliance. Shifts will include evenings and weekends. In addition, you will connect youth to community resources, make referrals, and collaborate with professionals and agencies. You will provide life skills instruction, maintain documentation, and contribute to program development and evaluation. Furthermore, you will monitor compliance with community supervision, support court-ordered reparative conditions, and provide guidance and advocacy to both youth and their families.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with consideration for equivalent education and experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent time management, and organizational abilities are essential. Direct experience working with the target population is required, along with a current First Aid certificate. A valid unrestricted Class 5 driver's license is also required.

The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of life skill development and youth issues. The ability to develop program-related reference materials, commit to a problem-solving approach, and work independently while managing multiple tasks is essential. Candidates should be skilled at identifying sensitive issues and maintaining confidentiality, while also being sensitive to and respectful of cultural and lifestyle diversity. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is also important.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
