Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations, treasury management, and project budgeting across multiple residential and commercial developments. This full-time position, based at our Head Office in Pickering, reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and plays an essential role in ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting that supports the company's growth and strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical and organizational skills, solid leadership capabilities, and experience in real estate development or construction finance.

Position Responsibilities
Finance and Treasury Management
Oversee preparation of monthly financial draw packages, ensuring timely submission and coordination with construction teams, third-party cost consultants, and financial institutions.
Supervise preparation of bank reports, cash flow forecasts, and capital calls for both internal and external stakeholders.
Support the CFO in financing solutions for development and construction projects, including new loan facilities and annual banking reviews.
Lead draw requests, invoicing, and compliance with financing agreements and accounting standards.
Maintain strong relationships with lenders and ensure timely funding and reporting.
Financial Planning, Budgeting & Proforma Forecasting
- Work closely with construction and estimating teams to establish and review hard and soft cost budgets for active projects.
- Maintain a Budget Adjustment (BA) system for low-rise developments and ensure alignment with bank requirements and internal controls.
- Prepare and maintain low-rise profitability analyses and variance reports, identifying key drivers and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Oversee creation and maintenance of project proformas and forecasts for both internal management and external banking purposes.
- Partner with the CFO to develop and refine financial models to support acquisitions, joint ventures, and major capital decisions.
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules as needed.
- Develop and maintain performance reporting packages for senior management and external partners.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and transparency across all financial statements and internal reports.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor Finance team members across the Proforma, Closings, and Treasury groups.
- Establish clear performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to provide financial insights and contribute to strategic decisions.
- Identify and implement process improvements, such as automation of reconciliations and streamlined budget tools, to enhance efficiency.
Other Responsibilities
- Support the CFO with ad hoc analyses and special projects related to construction, development, and corporate finance.
- Attend partner meetings to review project financials and address any outstanding issues or opportunities.

Required Skills and Experience
- ·Professional Designation: CPA required
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years in construction or development finance, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, or treasury functions.
- Proven understanding of real estate finance principles and construction terminology.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience is an asset.
Technical Skills:
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Sage 300, MS Dynamics, or similar systems preferred.
