Job Overview

Join the Prep Team at Earls—the backbone of our kitchen operations—where you'll ensure the Line Team has everything they need to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional guest experiences and staying true to "The Earls Way." Applicants should be eager to learn, passionate about food, and committed to maintaining hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prep & Ingredient Handling: Prepare ingredients (chopping, slicing, dicing, marinating, batching sauces, proteins, etc.) from scratch each day to support smooth kitchen service.

Quality & Consistency: Execute prep work with precision—portion-controlled, recipe-faithful, and guest-ready.

Station Cleanliness: Maintain a spotless, organized, and sanitary prep station in line with food safety standards.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with Line Cooks, Sous Chiefs, and other kitchen team members to coordinate prep priorities and support during rushes.

Learning & Development: Engage in one-on-one culinary training, mentorship programs, and potential paths toward leadership or Chef certification.

Requirements

Experience: Kitchen or prep experience is an asset—but not mandatory. We're committed to teaching you everything you need to succeed.

Certifications: FoodSafe or Food Handler certification is a plus.

Skills & Traits:

Strong attention to detail and urgency in fast-paced environments

Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities

Reliable, organized, and able to maintain consistency under pressure

Availability: Full-time commitment, typically shifting early (e.g., 6:30 AM–2:30 PM), and flexibility as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

Wage Range: Competitive hourly rate, approximately CAD $18–22/hr, depending on location and experience.
