Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Carpenter Apprentice/Skilled Labourer to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the carpentry and construction while working under the guidance of highly skilled professionals. This individual will assist in various construction projects, learning essential skills and techniques that will contribute to their development as a carpenter and while furthering their construction knowledge.
Duties
- Assist in the installation of cabinets, doors, and windows and other genereal carpentry including finaishing carpentry.
- Help with the fabrication of wooden structures and components according to schematics.
- Assist with finishing carpentry tasks.
- Participate in caulking and sealing projects to ensure durability and weather resistance.
- Support masonry work as needed, including mixing materials and assisting with installations.
- Learn to plumb structures accurately to ensure proper alignment and stability.
- Gain experience in electrical installations related to carpentry tasks.
- Assist in construction estimating by measuring materials and calculating project needs.
- Participate in restoration projects, learning techniques for repairing and refurbishing existing structures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
Requirements
- A strong willingness to learn and develop carpentry skills.
- A willingness to perform and organize general labour as needed.
- Basic understanding of construction principles and practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with schematics and blueprints is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting heavy materials.
- A valid driver's license and a vehicle is required for travel between job sites.
